Claims and Ownership Policy
This page explains how business profile claims may be submitted, reviewed, approved, or refused on Bizn.
Why claims exist
Claims allow a person connected to a business to request access to owner features for that business profile. A claim does not change public trust signals or review truth. It is only about ownership access and related business tools.
Who should submit a claim
A claim should be submitted only by someone who genuinely owns, manages, or is authorized to act for the business. Submitting a claim for a business you do not control is not allowed.
What may be required
A claim request may ask for identifying details such as your name, email address, and a short explanation of your connection to the business. Additional checks may be used where needed to confirm authority or reduce misuse.
How claims are reviewed
Claims may be reviewed automatically, manually, or both. The platform may consider account history, claim details, internal risk signals, and whether the request appears consistent with genuine business ownership.
Why a claim may be refused
A claim may be refused, delayed, or limited where there is reason to believe it may be:
- submitted by someone without authority
- incomplete or inconsistent
- misleading or deceptive
- part of spam, impersonation, or abusive activity
- unsafe to approve without further checks
What approval means
Approval of a claim may grant access to owner tools linked to that business profile. Approval does not guarantee any premium feature, billing status, ranking outcome, or public endorsement.
Existing listings
A business may already appear on the platform before it is claimed. The existence of a listing does not by itself mean the business has a paid plan or active owner account.
Impact on public information
Claim approval and owner access do not automatically change review truth, public ratings, moderation outcomes, or public trust signals. Those remain subject to the platform’s separate review and moderation rules.
More detail is available in the Review and Moderation Policy.
Misuse of the claim process
False claims, impersonation, or repeated abusive submissions are not allowed and may lead to restrictions on claims, accounts, or related features.
General behavior rules are set out in the Acceptable Use Policy.
